[heading]Our five tips on how to make your hair grow quicker, thicker and glossier.[/heading]

We’re all in the quest for a luscious head of hair. It’s a sign of health and vitality. Not to mention this year’s seen a huge rise in bouffant blow dries, further fuelling the desire for long locks. Hair grows on average half an inch every month. But for some, that just isn’t fast enough. So whether you’re growing out a pixie cut, a bob or Skrillex-style shaved sides, or just want longer hair right now, here are a few tried and tested tips that could help your hair grow faster.long-thick-wavy-hairstyle-

Get a head massage

Not just for those stressful days, head massage prompts hair growth and it actually works! Spend half an hour every evening running your hands over your scalp quite firmly. This will send more blood to the follicle, thus helping to stimulate growth. Although it will only help a few millimetres a month, it’s a guaranteed way to add an inch.

 Trims are the key

Split ends can make even thick hair look straggly and fuzzy. Heat, weather and the sun dries out hair, so getting regular trims will keep it looking sleek and glossy. You don’t need to take off much, so it won’t compromise your aims of Rapunzel hair. But even taking off the odd inch every few months will work wonders for your overall look. Oh, and sorry girls. Having regular trims will do nothing to help your hair grow. So it’s all about aesthetics in this case.

Handle your hair with care

Especially during that awkward growing out phase, you might be using all manner of appliances to wear out the look. Which is fine. Always remember though, prevention is better than cure. It’s far easier to protect your hair from heat and it is to repair split ends (which usually means lopping off an inch or two). Don’t towel dry by rubbing your towel all over your hair. Twist it gently and pat dry. Try not to brush your hair when it’s wet, and start from the bottom so you can loosen tangles rather than tackle them from the root.

Eat right

It’s no secret you need a varied diet to keep your skin healthy. But the same is true for your hair too. Green leafy vegetables like curly kale are the best place to start, as are citrus fruits. If you really can’t get on board with your five fruit and veg a day, take a multivitamin every day.

Exercise

We haven’t gone mad here. But the more you exercise the more blood gets pumping around your body. And it helps beat stress, which can cause hair loss and thinning. Half an hour on the treadmill, a good mile or two walk a day, or even running up and down a flight of stairs for fifteen minutes are great ways to start. Beat stress, and you’ll find your hair grows thicker and faster.
