Ladies hair trends 2016 for spring/summer 2016

The catwalks for the spring/summer 2016 looks are all change from autumn/winter 2015, and the hair is moving on too.

• Natural texture
While the summer and festival season encourages natural hairstyles, these are often highly worked on looks to achieve the ‘natural’ look. Spring/summer 2016 is going to be all about the ‘celebration of the individual’ and really styling for your own hair. This is a great look to work with regardless of the length of your hair too – short and wavy or long and straight, next season is all about working with what you’ve got. Make the most of your dead-straight hair with a statement fringe or a great messy twist with your wavy hair.

• The twist
The twist has been seen a lot on the catwalks as anything from a simple and scraped back bun to intricate pinned styles that have taken quite the artist to design. These twists have been showcased as the complete range from sleek and slick backed to the organic, almost messy vibe. We all stay up late and don’t get enough sleep. A messy French twist is an easy-up hairstyle that looks good enough for work or play and is really in with the spring/summer 2016 look.

• Accessories!
As will most of life, the style for spring/summer 2016 looks like it is going to be all about the accessories. Catwalk styles are fully inclusive when it comes to styles and materials for 2016’s hair accessories. The designers on the catwalk were taking the textured bed hair look and adding anything from glam pins to tiaras to really work new styles into simple bases. Vogue mazagine suggests that: “a well-placed ribbon or glittering tiara is all that’s needed to give an unexpected modern upgrade to second-day texture, low ponytail, or classic French twist”

• The fringe
The fringe/bangs are going to be worn as individual choice next season. Both hard and soft fringes are being showcased on the catwalks. The hard, heavy and dramatic fringes were being worn side by side with the wispy fringes with little product. Fringes are also taking on the nineties look and being work as longer side fringes as well as the standard straight fringes, making this look work regardless of hair type.

• Braids
The bohemian loose braids of 2015 seem to have gone! The spring/summer 2016 season looks to be all about tight, controlled braids. These are being worn all over the head – traditional tight plaits at the back, several small braids through long hair being worn loose, and everything in between. This is another style that is really being showcased as available to all hair types and whatever your style.

• All tied up
As always for the summer, there are some great styles on the catwalk for hair tied up and off the face, keeping your neck and back cool. Alternative buns styled with pins and hair tied up loosely with several accessories, are being showcased by the major designers.

Whatever style you go for next season, it is definitely the year of the hair accessory – time to be creative!
