This is the second part of our explanation of hair colour terms, looking at Flashes, Halos and more. Again, the following long hair and short hair definitions apply.
Short Hair is defined as hair that is jaw length and above
Long Hair flows past the jaw line
Foil Work
This is a great technique for having more than one colour at a time. The hair is weaved into sections then using foil colour is applied getting as close to the roots as possible. This is popular for going blonde without the commitment of an all over colour as we can keep it looking more natural – say for a sun-kissed look! Touch ups vary from 6 -13 weeks .
A flash panel of color is achieved by placing a strip of foil for targeted application of colour. Flash panels of colour placed though the hair up to the maximum of 8.
Great for adding a flash of chic colour through your hair.
Halo
This is a few more foils than flashes but not as many as half a head of foils, We achieve this angelic look by placing the foils along your parting and crown – like a halo of colour!
This is for those of you that want that all over platinum blonde! It’s a full head application of cream bleach with low level peroxide, then once lifted we put a toner all over, similar to a permanent application, to tone the hair to your desired shade. This may be more time consuming as we need to spend time to perfect the colour you desire. We definitely recommend one of our free Barbarella Hair consultations to run through your options.
Toner
Are you a blonde who’s colour has started to look flat or is throwing off brassy tones? Then a toner treatment is just the ticket! It neutralises any unwanted tones and gives your colour a chic pick me up helping it look lovely and fresh again!
