When Helen approached me to compose a guest blog on some of my favourite topics I was delighted to switch on the old laptop and talk to you about weddings, those all-important sparkly accessories and offer you some advice and tips on trends and looks for 2012/2013.
Here at the boutique we focus on things that are a little bit different, hair accessories don’t have to be about the traditional tiara and the dresses well they don’t have to follow tradition either. Remember this is your day your way, whether that is with a statement headpiece, floral accents, sparkly combs, a tea length gown, a lace dress or that always dreamt about princess dress.
2012 wedding dress trends see lots and lots of lace which has become a very sought after look since the Royal Wedding. Straps and more modest dresses continue to feature making looks more subtle and glamorous than the traditional strapless dress. Vintage glamour throughout the eras continue with renewed enthusiasm on Hollywood glamour, focusing on style icons Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.
2013 trends see lace continue but with softer silhouette’s and fabrics making for a more romantic look. Dresses are set to become more versatile than ever with some designers offering removable shrugs, removable straps and a whole host of design potentials, the world is your oyster!
Headpieces continue to become bolder and more daring with unusual features and elements. With hairstyles becoming less coiffed and more natural, with fishtail plaits, tousled half up dos and messy buns making for a chic statement looks.
